The Queen’s Moon
Heraios Full Moon
The Queen's Moon is a celebration of abundance and grace. In Heraios there is an abundance of fresh produce ripe and in season, from apricots, to cherries, to coconuts - it is a time of jubilation and joy. It is also a time when mothers, matriarchs, and feminine figures are to be honored; a time when the contributions of women and female-aligned individuals are to be recognized and celebrated.
Extravagant dinners and desserts are auspicious, as is utilizing the items one keeps safe for special occasions.

history vs modern day
While full moons may have been celebrated in ancient times, there is little to no record of a specific festival or observance for these lunar events (unlike Noumenia, etc.)
The traditions, alignments, and recommendations for our Full Moon Festivals come from a variety of places - not all of which are Hellenic in nature. Our Full Moon Festivals are also inspired by the local flora and fauna of South Carolina (where our Temple is located) as well as from other pagan and neo-pagan Full Moon traditions.
The Queen Moon is named in honor of Lady Lêta; a synchronization of Lady Hera and Lady Leto. The Queen's Moon is a time to show honor, respect, and eusebeia (piety) towards these two mother goddesses; be it as individual divinities or as the synchronized Lady Lêta.
The Queen's Moon affords us the opportunity to look within ourselves and examine the feminine aspects within us all. It also serves as a time to reflect on your ancestry, where you came from, and where you are now. For many, biological family is not an easy or even joyful subject - but it is important to not ignore the past, and to instead learn from it.
